We at Effective Altruism Austin are planning new ways to direct resources into supporting and expanding our community’s impact. We would love your input to be a part of that process!
Additionally, this survey helps us get to know you and serves as a universal application for our (always-free) programs, private events, and 1-on-1 advising. Fill it out once, and you never have to fill it again.

This survey takes 10 minutes (or more if you fill optional questions), and we think it is worth your time.
- You'll be voting on events and offerings you want, from lots of options.
- We'll custom-match you with opportunities and professional connections around the world, based on the values, skills, and goals you select here.
- You can book (always-free) 1:1 career-advising on high-impact roles suited to you. We'll also help you plan how you might make a career pivot to increase your impact or earning potential, if you are open to it.
- You become eligible for our free programs, and from then on you only need to register (30 seconds) for any program you like.
- You become eligible for our private events, where you can meet other highly-driven EA Austin members.
- You can join our Slack Workspace for Austin altruists, which has chat, collaboration, inter-member support, and team-based channels (such as reading groups and course cohorts).
You will get access to all the above on the final, proof-of-submission page. You'll be shown a link to our unlisted webpage. If you close the page too quickly, you can find it again in the automatic email response that Google Forms sends you.
Here’s what we’ll ask about:
There are 20 multiple choice questions and 4 one-sentence-answer questions.
There are also 18 optional free-answer questions, and on average people choose to answer 5 of them. All input is welcome and useful, so share as much detail as you like.
