At the present time (2024), we are in our second year of organizing to make the creation of the Western Queens Food Co-op a reality in three to five years. Our current plans are to start with a mobile food coop, and eventually to use community land trust space for a permanent location. We are working on drafting bylaws and a start-up budget, learning what it takes to launch and sustain a food cooperative, and recruiting a board of directors.

The Steering Committee meets on the last Wednesday of each month from 7-8:30pm, alternating between Zoom and in person. Our larger volunteer group meets quarterly.
