Virtual Standards and Best Practices
- All Youth Protection policies must be followed in a virtual teaching environment. If you need a refresher on the barriers to abuse, please visit my.scouting.org to view the training. This includes no one on one contact during electronic communication (video or written) and having a second adult leader at the course if teaching youth. If a female youth is part of the class, there needs to be an adult female on the course. We are working on compiling a list of volunteers willing to fill this role, but we ask that counselors work to set this up themselves to start.

- You must have the equipment, software, and capability to offer the class.

- If you are offering a virtual class, you will need to determine the class size needed for your course based on interaction needed with the participants.

- When offering a class that completes requirements for an award, you must have a system in place to track who is attending and earning the requirements. Some systems offer a sign in, otherwise a roll call is acceptable.
