This year has experienced a rampant infringement of human rights, in particular the restriction and criminalisation of the freedom of religion exercised by Muslims around the world. Such restrictions have been enacted and policed by State actors themselves. In the first event marking Redefined's Islamophobia Awareness campaign, we will be exploring a number of topics centred around the ongoing legitimations of State led Islamophobic frameworks and how the relationship between the freedom of religion and freedom of speech exists in this realm.
