The Listening Project: Learning from 60 Years of Social Justice and Community Organizing in Charlotte  
The Listening Project is a research project aimed at collectively learning from 60 years of social justice organizing history, as told by the organizers/participants involved in the social justice movements that spurred social change in Charlotte, NC. This is a community based participatory research project meaning we welcome feedback and community input during every stage of our research. We seek to listen to and honor the experiences of Charlotte organizers and activists, past and present, and to inform the future of Charlotte organizing. Your participation in this survey will allow researchers to find and gather information about community organizers living and working in Charlotte. 

What will you be asked to do?  

In this survey, you will be asked questions regarding your experience in the community as an organizer or activist.  

How will my information be protected? 

Your responses will be de-identified and kept separate from any personal information for the sake of confidentiality.  

How long will this take? 

This will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.  

What are the risks associated with this survey? 

There are minimal risks associated with completing this survey. All personal information will be removed in the reporting process. The responses will be kept on a password protected drive only accessible by the researchers but there is a chance these may get out. Please keep this possibility in mind when answering questions. 

Will I be compensated for completing this survey? 

There will be no compensation provided for the completion of this survey.
