As part of the Kenilworth Park Revitalization project, the City of Petaluma's Public Art program is looking for your input to shape the process of designing and building a new playground at Kenilworth Park. Your feedback will be used to create the goals for the Open Call to Artists and inform the selection of the artist/design firm who will lead the design of the playground.

Please read the project overview below before completing the survey. This survey should take about 5 minutes to complete, though there is no time limit.

Project Overview

Kenilworth Park Revitalization Project

Kenilworth Park, located at the corner of East Washington Street and Payran Street, is the largest community park serving the mid-town area and is in need of overall site improvements to better serve the community's growing needs. Improvements may include but are not limited to reimagined play spaces, improved access, drainage enhancements, tree work, park amenities, and pathway repairs. Thanks in part to Proposition 68: California Drought, Water, Parks, Climate, Coastal Protection, and Outdoor Access for All Act, in combination with the voter-approved Sonoma County Measure M: Parks for All Initiative benefiting local parks, the City has an opportunity to invest these funds and engage the community to create a shared vision and address the parks most critical needs.

Kenilworth Playground Public Art Project

A tandem effort to the Kenilworth Park Revitalization Project, the Kenilworth Playground Public Art Project was sparked by the Petaluma Public Art Committee's (PPAC) interest in investing in our local parks and playgrounds. The PPAC plans to use a portion of the City's Public Art Fund to redesign and rebuild Kenilworth Park's playground. The PPAC will work with the community to identify the ideas and desires for the playground and park, then release an Open Call for Artists to work with a designer or design firm to take the community's feedback and help imagine a functional playground-artwork.

Generations of Petalumans have made memories with their friends, families, and loved ones at Kenilworth Park. We look forward to hearing from you and working together to help create an equitable, diverse, and inclusive space for future Petalumans to enjoy!
