The Global Peace Dividend Initiative

In Dec. 21, 50+ Nobel laureates and the presidents of 5 academies of sciences signed a public letter calling upon governments to negotiate a coordinated 2%/year reduction of their military spending. You can read about that appeal here:

The proposed reduction in military spending would liberate over $1tn in 5 years—colossal resources to address climate change, pandemics, and extreme poverty, at scale, at no additional cost to nations.

Our association "The Global Peace Dividend Initiative" was created to campaign and advocate for an international agreement to that effect. Its board consists of Joe Cirincione (USA), Alevtina Nepomnyashchikh (UK), Carlo Rovelli (Italy) and Matteo Smerlak (France).

We intend to work closely with organizations around the world towards this goal. This form aims to collect initial ideas for collaborations and establish a first contact between our team and yours.
