Course Descriptions:

(1) Conflict Resolution
Teachers: Minister Isabel Lee and English Pastoral Staff

Most of us prefer peace and harmony in our relationships, but in real life conflict is inevitable. Why does conflict occur? How do we handle them biblically when they happen? What benefits can conflict resolution provide? During this quarter we will study conflict resolution from the Scriptures and the teachings of Jesus and see how they apply to groups, when you are in leadership position, in marriage, among friends, at work, at home, and relationships at church. We welcome you to join us to turn conflicts into opportunities for growth and change.

(2) Membership/Baptism Class
Teacher: Elder George Liu

This class will study the basic doctrines of Christianity. The class consists of 4 modules: a) Understanding our salvation b) Knowing God c) Loving God’s church & d) Discipleship & Service. It is for those who are interested in getting baptized into the Christian faith or for those who would like to transfer their membership to CBCM. It is also open to all who would like to grow in their understanding of the basic truths of our faith and our church.

(3) Leviticus: Living in God’s Presence
Teacher: Cliff Soon

How do you see God? How do you feel Sunday morning? Excited, or not very? Maybe it's time to take another look at worship!

The book of Leviticus is mystifying to many Christians. Its talk of sacrifices and offerings and laws seems distant and alien to us. However, to the people of God, it was - and should be - good news. Without it, the rest of the Bible, including the Gospel, sacrifice, atonement, law, and grace, doesn’t make much sense.

For “Leviticus is good news. It is good news for sinners who seek pardon, for priests who need empowering, for women who are vulnerable, for the unclean who covet cleansing, for the poor who yearn for freedom,” for the marginalized, for families, for animals, for creation. It tells us how to live in the presence of a holy God, what He has done for us, and what He expects of us as a holy people. Through studying it, we will see God with new eyes, and worship Him with a new joy.
