Hybrid Physical Education Course for 2020-2021 for 7th & 8th Grade
** NOTE: All 7th and 8th grade students will be receiving an adaptation of the hybrid course during distance learning due to Covid-19.
WHAT IS HYBRID PHYSICAL EDUCATION?
CMS offers an online-based, hybrid-learning Physical Education course. The course ensures that state requirements for Physical Education are met while providing flexibility for students.The Physical Education activities occur off site with bi-monthly check-ins with the teacher on-campus. Standards-based written work and assessments are also important components of the course and are submitted through PowerSchool.
COURSE DETAILS:
Class time: Period 7: M, T, TH, F, 2:15 pm -3:05 pm and W, 1:00 pm-1:41 pm. Students will be dismissed from school at the end of their 6th period, except for a required bi-monthly, on-campus class time with their teacher. For these class days, students will be required to remain on campus until the end of the 7th period Physical Education class meeting, 3:05 pm.. These class meeting days will be calendared at the beginning of the school year. Students are expected to leave campus at the end of their 6th period class.
QUALITIES AND SKILLS RECOMMENDED FOR SUCCESS
Good organization, excellent time management, self-starter, and good study skills are important predictors of success in Hybrid Physical Education. Students who are still developing these skills and have difficulty with work completion in other classes may find Hybrid Physical Education too challenging.
