I support reasonable, limited uses of the Cranston Street Armory to help fight homelessness
Some residents of the West-End are proposing the following petition as a way to show support for the use of the Cranston Armory as a resource for the unhoused community.  This petition is in no way affiliated with any organization or government agency.

As a resident of the Providence West-End, I support reasonable, limited uses of the Cranston Street Armory to help fight homelessness. Given the homelessness crisis that the state is facing and the lack of good transitional options for the people living in the Armory, I support this use, according to the following:

1. The current warming station would begin to wind down and have a maximum capacity of 100 people by April 15, 2023 and a capacity of no more than 50 people at a time by May 15, 2023.
2.  The state could, should it choose to, continue to use the Armory as a warming station for 50 people at a time until June 15,2023.
3.  There would be another Community Meeting early June to discuss any potential continued use of the building as a shelter or warming station, and community members will be given a voice in whether there is any such use after June 15,2023.
