Kingian Nonviolence Training, May 9-11, 2025
We invite folks over the age of 16 to join us for a Kingian Nonviolence Training at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, May 9-11. Together, we will immerse ourselves in the principles and steps of nonviolence through interactive modules that will equip you with tools for organizing for justice and peace. The training itself is an experience of being in beloved community together, and we hope to have a diverse group that will bring unique contexts, perspectives, questions and experiences to our training together.

Our Trainers
Our four trainers have all been trained in Kingian Nonviolence. In March, Pastor Martha Bardwell and Pastor Esther Sianipar from Our Saviour's Lutheran Church were trained in Selma, AL at the Selma Center for Nonviolence, Truth and Reconciliation, in a program developed by Dr. Bernard Lafayette, civil rights activist, friend of Dr. King, and internationally renowned teacher of nonviolence. Peter Anderson, Executive Director of Peace Catalyst International, and Pastor Sara Jensen, Pastor at Lutheran Church of Christ the Redeemer, have been trained for some years and have integrated this training into their work in various ways. We are excited to come together for the first time to offer this training in Minneapolis.

Our Location, Schedule + Meals
The training will take place at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 2315 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404.
