Process:
Thanks for taking an interest in the becoming at mentor at The Foundry. We have many QUT Entrepreneurship members of varying experience so it's important we match them to a mentor of relevant skillset and experience. Our aim is that you get as much value out of this relationship as we and the mentees do. This application is Step 1 to gather relevant information, then we progress to a face to face catch up to meet you. If there is a fit, we will match you with entrepreneurs depending on expertise and the entrepreneur's needs. This means that given numbers of entrepreneurs, their needs, mentor expertise, and timing, not all mentors can be actively mentoring a QUT Entrepreneur. This is absolutely not a reflection of the value we place on that mentor.

I understand that as a mentor with QUT Entrepreneurship I play a vital role in the entrepreneur’s development. I confirm that:

I agree to work with the frameworks used by QUT Entrepreneurship to provide a consistent language with entrepreneurs.

I do this without expectation of reward, acknowledgement, or compensation.

It is my role to guide not control. Entrepreneurs must make their own decisions. I will guide them but never tell them what to do. I understand that it’s their company, not mine.

I understand that it is not my role to do tasks for entrepreneurs as learning comes from working to complete these tasks.

I am willing to make introductions to members of my network when appropriate.

I will be honest and direct.

I will keep information shared by the entrepreneur in confidence.

I will be responsive. QUT Entrepreneurship knows I have many other obligations and will let them know if I am no longer available to mentor.

I will work with QUT Entrepreneurship to document my interactions with the entrepreneur so QUT can better support the entrepreneur and the venture in the future.

I agree to allow QUT to share that I am a Mentor and my profile.

If my relationship with the entrepreneur develops and I choose to invest or receive compensation, I will let QUT know IMMEDIATELY as I am no longer serving as a mentor and QUT needs to find someone neutral to replace me.
