ReDesign Your Course with Open Educational Resources (OER)

All faculty have depths of knowledge in your particular fields and the passion to share that knowledge with your students.  In higher education, faculty do not often come into teaching with education or experience in creating and designing courses. You teach every day. You understand objectives and how to cover required topics in each course. Yet, that is often accompanied with a lot of work piecing things together on your own or feeling frustrated with texts and the availability of resources.

Do you find that:

 - you only use a portion of your textbook and supplement a lot with outside resources?

 - your favorite textbook is out of print?

 - your favorite textbook gets new editions and higher prices faster than you can keep up with?

 - you have yet to find a text that suits all of your needs, but like the ancillary materials the publisher provides?

 - you spend a lot of time trying to find new relevant materials to include with your text?

 - you are interested in using Open Education Resources for a course but feel like there’s too much work involved in getting started?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, this ReDesign class is for you.  Answers the question below, and you will be contacted with all the details.  This is not a commitment to taking the class, but rather an interest generating form.

This is a step-by-step class that will walk through changing textbooks and laying out a course with some instructional design methods woven in.  This class is asynchronous and can be taken at any point during the session.  Individuals interested, curious about the details, or who want to know more before committing, please sign up here to get that information. Filling out the registration is NOT a commitment to taking the class or an obligation to participate.

Session/Cohort Information
This class is taught twice per year in a cohort model, beginning at the end of November and first of June. Though the class is asynchronous and can be taken at a pace that suits your schedule, this allows for discussion and potential collaboration as desired. Each session will run for 6 months to accommodate the already busy schedules faculty face.
After submitting this form, you will receive an introductory email from Christina Trunnell, your instructor and facilitator. Trunnell is currently affiliated with Montana State University as well as the TRAILS consortium.  This course is open to faculty regardless of their location or institutional affiliation.

For questions, please contact Christina at christina.trunnell@montana.edu.  You can also schedule a video or phone conversation through this link, https://calendly.com/ctrunnell.
