The existing street is a residential collector constructed in 1967.  It is approximately 40’ wide and consists of asphalt pavement with 6” curb and gutter, sidewalk, and underground storm system.  The scope of the proposed Street configuration and limits for this project as well as the scope of the proposed Utility improvements are:

1. The proposed street will be designed to include 2 bid options. Base bid option 1 will include a flexible pavement section of 3” type D HMAC, 9” crushed limestone base, and 12” compacted subgrade. Base bid option 2 will include a jointed concrete pavement section with 6” of jointed reinforced concrete and 12” of lime stabilized compacted subgrade.

2. Construction of ADA-compliant 5’ sidewalk on both sides of the roadway replacing the existing 4’ sidewalk.

3. Construction of ADA curb ramps on Trojan-Castenon, Castenon-Juarez intersections and at the end of the West sidewalk connecting to the East sidewalk.

4. Replacement and addition of new storm water manholes and curb inlets, new storm pipes and addition of storm inlets. The new pipes will carry storm water to a new manhole constructed by the RSRP City project at the North limit of the project.

 5. Installation of new water mains and new fire hydrants will be installed.

 6. Replacement and installation of new wastewater (WW) mains.

7. Minor Gas line adjustments if needed.
