Solar Installer Apprenticeship Program Application
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the renewable energy field and join a growing organization dedicated to preserving the environment and making a healthier, safer world.

The Solar Installation Apprenticeship Program runs from October 2020 to December 2021. Participants meet only one evening per week from Oct - May, and then transition to full time paid work from May - December.  No construction experience is necessary to join the program, but you’ll need to bring a willingness to learn and apply skills, incorporate safety standards and new information into your working day.

The Solar Installation Apprenticeship Program is a partnership between Adult & Continuing Education @ Burlington Technical Center, Sun Common. It is made possible by support from the Vermont Department of Labor.

Students enrolled in the year long program will receive training specific to the solar installation industry, OSHA certification, full language support for academic and job site success, and other wrap-around supports. The program runs Oct. 13, 2020-December 2021.

From October 2020 - May 2021, students meet once a week on Tuesday evenings in the Burlington area to learn construction and solar installation basics. From May 2021 -Nov/Dec. 2021, students work full time in a paid ($15/hr, 40hr/week) apprenticeship with Sun Common, out of Waterbury VT.

For consideration into the program, interested participants need to complete this online application.

The program tuition is $3400. Full financial assistance for qualified participants is available through VSAC's Adult Advancement Grants and the Department of Labor's WIOA workforce development grant.
