Welcome to UC Santa Cruz and International Student Orientation, hosted by Global Engagement. Orientation is required and mandatory for all incoming international students on an F-1 or J-1 visa. We look forward to welcoming you to our campus community.

International Student Orientation - Winter 2023
Audience: Newly admitted F-1 or J-1 first years, transfers, graduates, and exchange students
Date: 17:30 - 20:00 (Doors Open at 17:30)
Location: Humanities 2-259 (Link will direct you to Humanities 1. Room is located next door in Humanities 2)
  • Check-In Time: 17:30 - 18:00
  • Dinner and mingling will begin as early as 17:30
  • Formal program will begin at 18:00
This event is designed for all new, incoming international students to meet fellow students, learn more about the campus and available resources, and aid in your intercultural transition. Orientation will include:
  • Welcome and Introduction of Global Engagement staff
  • Overview of regulations to maintain your F-1 or J-1 status
  • Tips and strategies to aid in transition
  • Campus Resources
  • Community Building with Global Leaders (undergraduate student leaders)
