Elevate - Application Hangouts and Co-working at MoHA

Elevate is a grant through the City of Austin and the awards are up to $25k for individual artists or creative businesses, and up to $75k for 501(c)3 non-profits.

The money can be used for operations, exhibitions, performances, workshops, public art classes and education.  To be eligible for funding you must have 1 year of operating history in the Austin MSA and 51% or more of your creative production must happen within the Austin ETJ. Here is the full program description.

Below you’ll find a rsvp for 6 hangouts at MoHA to help with applications. These hangouts are free and we’re going to break up the application into parts and have people around to help. You can come to one or all of them.

At each hangout, someone from MoHA will talk a little bit about a section and then we’ll listen to music and work on the application together and there will be people and peers around to help and answer questions 1:1. We’ve found it easier and more fun doing things together with community support, and sharing work and resources is cool.

Through Lyft we have a limited amount of ride credits to offer for anyone who would benefit from that. If you have access to a laptop or computer, please bring it. We also have a handful of computers available at MoHA as well as internet access. We’ll order pizza or some fun snacks as well as have some beverages available.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Tue - 6/6- 6pm - 9pm
  • Sat - 6/10 - 10am- 1pm
  • Tue - 6/13- 6pm - 9pm
  • Sat - 6/17 - 10am- 1pm
  • Tue - 6/20 - 6pm - 9pm
  • Sat - 6/24 - 10am- 1pm

The content of each week will be dependent on interest and if participants have the capacity to come to one or multiple sessions.

MoHA is not employed by the city or any of its third party contractors. This programming is intended to support community through the process.

Required
Would Lyft credits to get to MoHA be beneficial?

We'll provide them no questions asked, on a first come first serve basis. The credit can cover up to $30 one way and we can provide 2 for round trip.
Would access to a computer be beneficial while at MoHA?

We have a limited number of laptops and/or computers at MoHA and guests are welcome to use them on a first come first serve basis.
Will you be bringing a +1?

We want to keep these initial hangouts small enough that we can provide everyone 1:1 assistance and support should they request it.
Are you interested in fiscal sponsorship?
Fiscal sponsorship, at its core, is when a nonprofit organization extends its tax-exempt status to select groups engaged in activities related to the organization's mission. The benefit to individuals or creative businesses is administrative support, the ability to purchase cheaper insurance and a potential reduced individual tax responsibility.
