Workshop from September 13 to 17, 2024, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

@Centre de la Marionnette de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (Tournai-B)
Build a giant puppet that can be manipulated by one or more manipulators? The recipe: a jigsaw, a screwdriver, a razor saw, but above all a good idea and a lot of enthusiasm!
Participants will begin by creating a rough paper head using the technique of German master puppeteer Albrecht Roser.
In just a few cuts, this technique creates expressive three-dimensional puppet heads and hands.
A pattern is then created, enlarged and transferred to foam sheets.
Once the heads have been glued together, a rattan frame and fabric body are created.
The carrying technique will be determined according to the size of the puppets.
The puppet heads are then painted.
The specificity of the technique used enables the construction of large, light puppets that can be manipulated without too much effort.
Participants will then be invited to walkabout on September 29 during Place des Marionnettes.
