About Coming Up Rosies
At two and a half, Rosie was diagnosed with Alopecia, an autoimmune disease that attacks the hair follicle which results in baldness. Instead of focusing on fixing her baldness, she was raised as a little girl who loves herself, hair or no hair. Inspired by Rosies’ dream to help “kids who look like me”, Coming Up Rosies is founded by Paula and Rosie Quinn as a non-profit organization.
Our mission is to restore confidence, happiness and pride to anyone struggling with low self-esteem during their medical journey, especially bald children. Our vision is a world where every child goes to sleep proud of their differences. We accomplish this by donating art supplies to children’s hospitals throughout the US. Since 2016, we’ve donated Smile Kits to hospitals and charity organizations around the world, in order for children to create their very own head scarves and superhero capes. Each kit provides a child an outlet of creativity, and the ability to wear their masterpiece with a smile.
About the Student Ambassador Program
The Coming Up Rosies ambassador program's mission is to educate and raise awareness about Coming Up Rosies' mission, vision, and values as an organization on college campuses. As a student ambassador, you will be posting on your social media accounts about Coming Up Rosies, organizing events such as a smile kit building party, coordinating events, representing Coming Up Rosies at campus activity fairs, and more.
Some benefits of becoming a student ambassador are that you will learn about the organizational structures and daily operations of an NGO, have hands-on opportunities to solve real-world problems, develop relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, enhance leadership and problem-solving skills, plan and execute creative ideas, increase campus involvement, and expand your network.
As an ambassador, we also welcome any ideas and tips from you on how to spread awareness and get more involved on campus!
