The deadline for Confirmation 2020 was October 1, 2019.  Please fill in this form and bring in the required materials within 24 hours of your registration.

This is a registration form for our Confirmation Program for 2019-2020.  Please fill it in accurately and completely so we can keep accurate sacrament records for your child. Please put these dates in your calendar as you register.

Confirmation will be on Saturday, April 18 at 5:00 p.m.  If this celebration time does not accommodate family plans  but you would like to do preparation at St.Michael, we can work together to find a parish whose Confirmation Mass time works for your family. Conversely, if another parish has alternate preparation times and dates that work for family but you wish to celebrate Confirmation at St. Michael, we can work with the parishes to permit this to happen.

All of the sessions below are part of Confirmation; you are choosing ALL of them (once a month).

Each candidate will be expected to complete 4 hours of Parish or Outreach service, and each candidate will fill in a Service Commitment Form and a booklet that accompanies our video series. Completion of Service activity can commence once registration for Confirmation has been made (no retroactive service activities will be permitted without permission from the Confirmation Coordinator). These activities should be new for the candidate and allow for him/her to experience service in an area that challenges them (i.e. if your child babysits, babysitting is not a Confirmation service choice). The activities should also be an opportunity for your child to experience corporal and spiritual works of mercy.

Although there are many volunteer opportunities for teens, we want the candidates to learn about the needs of the community through the values of the three theological virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity, and/or the seven corporal works of mercy: feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit the imprisoned, and bury the dead. Their volunteer experiences should reflect those actions.

Each candidate will then write a letter to the Bishop expressing a desire to be Confirmed, what s/he experienced in his/her service project.

Each candidate will sign up for his/her Sacrament of Reconciliation time below. Reconciliation is a sacrament that should be partaken in often and candidates will celebrate this sacrament before they receive the Holy Spirit!

Parents will sign up for one Friday night session to provide supervision and snacks.  Only one night needs to be attended but you are encouraged to stay and watch our DVD series at any time.

The cost to register your child for this Sacrament is $25, which covers the cost of materials. Also, a copy of your child's Baptism certificate (including those baptized at St. Michael's) must be submitted to the Parish Office within one week of submitting a registration. If the certificate is in another language other than English, please provide a translation with the copy (it does not have to be a certified translation). An address of your baptism church must be provided as we send Confirmation copies to the original baptism church.

Families must also be registered parishioners of St. Michael Catholic Community in order for us to keep accurate sacrament records for the Diocese.
