Lag Ba'Omer Journey: Inward and Out הרפתקאת ל"ג בעומר תשפ"א
April 29th or 30th - May 1st
Lag Ba'Omer Tzfat Meiron - Gevalt

Lag Ba'Omer is a powerful opportunity for personal and communal transformation.  We will journey together to Tzfat and Meiron by foot, not simply for the sake of saying we did it, or even to partake in the day's epic festivities, but to genuinely adventure into discovery, revealing and enlivening our inner fire just as the Rashbi revealed that of the Torah.

Here is the plan -

Thursday, April 29th, 1:00pm:
Meet up in צפת and head out on a 3-4 hour hike to Meiron through Nachal Amud on Shvil Yisrael.  If you haven't hiked נחל עמוד, it totally rocks, full of shimmering water and towering trees, and hiking towards Meiron for Lag Ba'Omer is a particularly enlivening experience. Upon arrival in Tzfat we'll stash our Shabbat clothing, food and gear in Michal's vehicle (thanks Michal!) and pack everything we'll need for Thursday evening on our backs (we'll be packing lightly, primarily sleeping gear and food).  Once we arrive in Meiron we'll search for a camp site (expect this to be a challenging balagan that we'll overcome together), bring some intention and learning into the evening's festivities, and celebrate in dveikut u'kedusha into the evening. Those who choose will return with Michal to Tzfat.

Friday, April 30th:
Those who would prefer to join us on Friday should aim to arrive at עין כובס, adjacent to צפת, at 2:00pm.  Easiest to bus to צפת and then either walk (45min) or cab (10min) to עין כובס.
Meiron crew - wake up (assuming we've slept), daven, yoga, pack up, and head back towards צפת and ultimately עין כובס (a 4 hour hike).  We plan to arrive by 2pm to prepare for Shabbat (eiruv, food preparation, setting up camp, learning, jumping in the ma'ayan etc.).  Hopefully we will bring Shabbat in early with time to bring intention and daven while light remains before enjoying a joyous seudah together.

Shabbos:
Shabbos: Ahhhh, Shabbos.  Davening, qigong, learning and discussion, roaming the forests, seudot, song, so sweet.

Return:
Those who would prefer to return motzash - you can packup and either taxi or walk into צפת (single dirt road, easy to navigate).  The latest bus departs at 10pm I believe.  You are also welcome to linger until morning.

Logistics:
- We've got the food and dishes taken care of. Bring your favorite snacks for Shabbat.
- Communal gear - tents, cooking, lights, etc. - we've got.
- Plan and navigation - you can count on us!
- Packing list below includes the personal items you're responsible for.  If you need larger personal gear (sleeping bags, packs - indicate below).
- Cost: asking for 200 shek per person if joining from Thursday, 150 if just for Shabbat.  This covers gear and food as well as time - planning takes hours, a good number of them - compensation is really important for making this project sustainable.  If you can't afford, please indicate and be in touch with Nadav directly - 058791150.
