This year's theme is "Mountain Life." Let your imagination have fun!
Please complete this form by SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8 at 5 p.m. CDT.
Scarecrows will be spread out across the venue (not in a "holler" as in years past). You will be designated a 5' square area with a complimentary square straw bale that you may use as a prop.
Set-up will be Sunday, October 9, through Friday, October 14, at Moon Lake Village. We will designate a space for you or you may come by the MAPA office at Moon Lake Village M-F, 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m., to select your preferred space. Scarecrows will remain up through Halloween and must be removed by Wednesday, November 2. Any display that is not removed by that time will be discarded.
Scarecrows must be family-friendly and should not reflect controversial, social, or political affairs. No handouts or promotional materials may be associated with any entry. MAPA and the Scarecrow Committee reserve the right to remove any Scarecrow that does not meet these standards.
Scarecrows must be constructed to withstand weather conditions. It is suggested that entrants check on their display periodically.
Judging will be determined by your expression of the theme, originality, and creativity.
1st place–$75, 2nd place–$50, 3rd place–$25. Judging will take place on Saturday, October 15, at 9 a.m.
Winning entries will be ribboned by 11 a.m. Winners will be announced on the music stage on Sunday afternoon and will be featured in the November issue of The Groundhog. MAPA reserves the right to use photographs of entries.
