Yes! I am interested in hosting SCU undergraduate pre-health students who are searching for clinical experience.
The Health Professions Advisor at Santa Clara University, Dr. Brian McNelis (bmcnelis@scu.edu) is interested in making connections with healthcare organizations and healthcare professionals who are interested in hosting SCU undergraduate pre-health students searching for clinical experience.  Finding clinical and shadowing experiences post-COVID has been a significant challenge for students and without the clinical experience, even the best students will have difficulty in admissions process for health professions programs.  Currently, students reach out directly to organizations, and this cold-call approach is inefficient and discouraging for students.  The goal is to have a list of organizations who would be willing to host students for shadowing, volunteering and possibly paid positions.  For students who have room in their schedules or are considering gap year training, paid positions would be advantageous for organizations and these students.
