TPRC Proposal
Please use this form to submit your proposal for hosting and planning the 2024 Perl and Raku Conference.

It’s time to plan TPRC 2024. If you are interested in organizing the event in your city, please submit a proposal by April 28th.

TPRC is a 3 day conference devoted to the Perl and Raku programming languages. When planning TPRC we expect an estimated 150 people will attend. We like to ask that at least 50 hotel rooms are set aside for attendees, and we will need to know if there is a room purchase obligation should those rooms go unfilled. We usually cater snacks and beverages, some venues will have this available while others may require you to contract with an outside caterer. A sample Request for Proposal can be found below. I have used the preferred conference dates for 2024 in the sample letter.

Hello! My name is Amber Deuel and I am contacting you on behalf of The Perl and Raku Foundation for a quote on conference space. We would like to quote three rooms: one large space that can fit 100 people, and two breakout rooms that can accommodate up to 50 people. Each room will need a support package, projector, speaker system with PC audio patch, and podium microphone. We would also like to cater morning and afternoon snacks for our estimated 150 attendees.

In addition, we would like to block at least 50 rooms for each of the three nights preceding the conference, and a smaller number for the days surrounding that, perhaps like so:

Mon Jun 17 - 5 rooms

Tue Jun 18 - 10 rooms

Wed Jun  19- 50 rooms

Thu Jun 20 - 50 rooms

Fri Jun 21- 50 rooms

Sat Jul 22 - 10 rooms

We may need the ability to expand the block, so please let us know what inventory you have available for the main days (Jun 19-21). Please also let us know what the flexibility would be if the conference grows to 200 people or shrinks to 75. I will need to know an estimate of the total costs along with any room fulfillment requirements. Please also include if there are parking or resort fees for those attending.

I look forward to your proposal,

Amber Deuel
