AVID Application for 2020 - 2021 School Year - English Version
What is AVID?
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a selective, nationally-acclaimed program that seeks to both challenge and support students on their path to attending a four-year college or university.  AVID employs research-backed curriculum and strategies to ensure that students succeed in their current classes and in their future academic opportunities.  AVID places its students in advanced classes and provides them with trained AVID teachers in their content courses and access to free tutoring.  AVID works closely with families to foster a strong learning community and encourages students to be active and participate in extracurricular activities.  At graduation, it is the goal of the Jordan High School AVID Program that students will be ready to attend a four-year university on scholarship.

Who qualifies for Jordan High School’s AVID Program?
-Any student with at least a 2.25 weighted grade point average (Recommended)
-Any student who would be a first generation college student (this means any student whose parent/guardian did not attend a four-year college or university)
-Any student who has the motivation and desire to attend a four-year college or university on scholarship
-Any student who is willing to commit to enrollment in rigorous college-preparatory courses

This application is due 7/31 by 11:59pm.
