My name is Oriel Marshall and I am a PhD student at the universities of Antwerp and Copenhagen, currently based in Antwerp.
I am part of the
CHAMELEON Innovative Training Network, a network focused on modeling exoplanets and their atmospheres.
My PhD research topic is 'translating scientific concepts into teaching materials' and for this I have developed two sets of
hands-on, interactive inquiry lessons for students aged 15 - 18 on the topics of cloud formation and lighting on exoplanets. These lessons teach the curricula topics of
cloud formation (geography) and
electricity/charge (physics) respectivly.
I am currently looking for teachers or educations who would be interested in attending teacher trainings and piloting these lessons in their classroom.
Through your collaboration you will recieve a set of interactive inquiry lesson plans that have been developed with exoplanet scientists. There will also be oportunities for you and your class to be involved in question and answer sessions and talks given by the exoplanet researchers from the CHAMELEON network.
