If you are playing alone
Get started on the challenges whenever you're ready, but it will be more fun to play with friends of family -- either in person with those in your house or online with a video chat app!
If you are playing as a group
You need to have this escape room pulled up on one device. Each individual will solve their specific challenges on the singular device. If playing long distance with others, have one person be in charge of inputting the solutions for the rest of the group.
For an extra challenge
You and your family or friends can pull up this room on individual devices and race each other to complete the tasks and finish the escape room first!

During this period of social distancing, it is recommended that you complete this challenge in your home with your family or remotely with your friends. Good luck and have fun!
YOUR MISSION:
HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Even though you and your family is unable to go to a festival or large fireworks show, you manage to win a special getaway for your group in a large mansion just outside of Toronto.

The huge, historic house is perfect for your family to enjoy a special Canada Day despite quarantine. After dropping off the keys and a list of rules of behavior in the mansion, the person in charge of the giveaway leaves your family to their fun.

Everything starts off great as your family explores the house and all its luxurious rooms. When you get to the top floor, a thick wooden door calls your attention for some reason. Your whole group goes to investigate that particular room.

Once everyone is inside the space that happens to be filled with a wide range of items (from books to portraits to memorabilia), the door slams shut of its own accord!

SLAM!

You run the door and try to get it open but it is locked from the outside. Then, the lights flicker out -- leaving your family in the dark.

Wait...what's that?

A glowing sign made with glow-in-the-dark paint on the far wall says "Start Here".

One of your group goes over to the sign and presses on it, revealing a note written with glow-in-the-dark ink.

Your family member reads the note aloud:

"Greetings giveaway winners!
It might surprise you to know that you actually were specially chosen for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This house has belonged to an estate trust for a couple of years. It is time to pass on the house and the fortune that goes with it. The original owner's legal will was very specific though. The mansion and money cannot go to just anyone. It can only be awarded to a group that knows and loves Canada as much as she did. The room is filled with history, collectibles, books, and more from Canada's past and present -- from the time when the First Nations were the only inhabitants to modern times. In order to get out of this room before tomorrow morning (and obtain the prize), you have to use the clues found in this wall to gather specific items in the room.
Good luck!"
