Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of George Keating, NAIBA is proud to present this opportunity to booksellers in our region.  The scholarship provides $500 to a bookseller from NAIBA for the purpose of professional development and advancement in their roles within their bookstores or within the publishing industry. It can be applied to expenses for the annual conference or the Professional Booksellers School. 

To be eligible for the George Keating Scholarship your bookstore must be a member in good standing with NAIBA.

Having worked in bookstores during and after his years at college, George joined Brentano's managing stores in Connecticut and New York. He joined Simon & Schuster in 1978 as a sales representative. For almost 30 years, George traveled the country representing S&S in various sales and management positions. While most of those years were marked by the expansion of the publishing industry, the real excitement came from helping to launch and promote a constant stream of best-selling authors.
