GRCB Summer 2020 Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with GRCB this summer!

Due to quarantine we have have had to pivot and swivel our way into a new virtual world. And we are here! Introducing...GRCB's VIRTUAL SUMMER! All summer long we are offering a variety of programming and need your help to continue to build community virtually!

Get Involved! We will have 3 programs that need volunteer support. GRCB Youth Leadership, Rock, Learn & Create From Home and Lunchtime Band! Check out the program & position descriptions below!

Volunteer positions are open to women and adults with marginalized gender identities, 19 years and older. Youth who attend GRCB programming come from a wide range of economic experiences, racial and ethnic identities, gender identities, and neighborhoods. We strive to create a volunteer base that reflects this diversity, and strongly encourage people of color, people who are gender non-binary and/or trans, and any folks who come from traditionally oppressed experiences to volunteer with Girls Rock Campaign Boston.

All new volunteers will be interviewed and a background check is required.

Youth Leadership Coach (Tuesday & Thursday Afternoons)
GRCB Youth Leadership is an opportunity for girls and youth with marginalized gender identities, ages 13-17, to spend the summer deepening their leadership skills and working together to change the status quo. GRCB Youth Leadership meets virtually twice a week for six weeks this summer.

The Youth Leadership Coach (YLC) will collaborate with GRCB staff to co-facilitate our pilot season of Youth Leadership meetings and act as a role model and mentor to a group of 13-17 year-old youth. The YLC will support youth in developing leadership skills, research skills, and walk them through the process of collaborating to take action to change the status quo. Youth work background (especially YPAR experience or experience working with youth over virtual platforms) is encouraged but not required. No musical experience required.

Time commitment:
1 hour virtual orientation meeting week of July 6-10
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:50-4:20 via zoom
July 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd, 28th, 30th
August 4th, 6th, 11th, 13th, 18th, 20th
plus culminating event date and time TBD
Rock, Learn & Create From Home Content Contributor (Anytime!)
Since mid-March, we have been consistently building up our youtube channel with our Rock, Learn & Create From Home Series and will continue to do so all summer long! This allows our youth to rock at home with our incredible volunteers and access instrument lessons and creative workshops anytime!

Y’all know that this organization is about music and so much more! We invite as many volunteers as possible to share their wisdom, skills, talents, and vast forms of self-expression with the world! Teach a vocal lesson, show us how to make your favorite recipe, help us build a spoken word piece, train our eyes through photography  - anything you feel passionate about and want to share!

Bands must be comprised of least 50% female or folks with marginalized gender identities. All ages and genres encouraged to apply!
