Last year we offered an in-person interview with alumna, Juli Boit with Living Room International. Juli released her second book Brave Love. If you missed this in-person CE interview, we would like to invite you to view this presentation on video. You have until February 16, 2024 to view the video at your convenience and to fill out the evaluation form within that window in order to receive your CE certificate. LOVE MAKES US BRAVE | A Story of an APU Difference Maker
Brave Love began with a simple question ~What does it look like to love in this situation?
J uli Boit's (BSN '01) life has been guided by a call to ease suffering. This call took place 20 years ago with a courageous & compassionate goal the size of a mustard seed. Her BRAVE LOVE led Juli to leave her home in California to help those suffering from AIDS in Kenya.
Together with friends and family, Living Room International was born. Living Room International is a hospice and palliative care mission in Western Kenya with two in-patient facilities, a funeral home, and home-based care programs. Living Room offers holistic care to men, women, and children suffering from life-threatening illnesses, including pain and symptom management, nutrition, physical therapy, psychological support, and spiritual support.
Juli is traveling from Kenya for an in-person interview that will chronicle stories from Kenya and her own personal suffering when death knocked on the doorstep of her children.
Juli's latest memoir, Brave Love: A Nurses' Journey of Courage and Compassion in a Kenyan Hospice is available November 2023.
