Welcome!
This is a weekend retreat for New England youth in grades 6th through 8th who are Quaker or interested in the Quaker way and Quaker community. JHYM strives to seek and find that of God in ourselves and in each other within the faith tradition and practice of Friends. As we build our community, we share and explore what it means, looks and feels like to be a Quaker in the 21st Century. We also have a lot of fun!
This retreat contains opportunities for connecting both on Zoom and safely in person at different points during the weekend. There will be Zoom sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for "everybody time" meaning all JH'ers from all over. Then on Saturday from 11 - 4 p.m. we will meet up at Wellesley Meeting, (and at Hartford, Portland and/or western Mass if we get enough signups). All youth and staff attending the in-person meetups will be required to wear masks, practice social distancing, and remain outdoors. We'll wrap up with Sunday morning worship from 10-11AM on Zoom
Registrations are preferred by October 2nd. Anyone registered after Oct. 14th may not receive a package in the mail with retreat materials.
The cost to host this retreat has been greatly reduced and we understand families may be under considerable financial strain at this time. Children may participate free of charge. We appreciate donations of any amount you are led to contribute if able. Information on how to donate will be included in the pre-retreat email.
Please use one form per child. Thank you!
