Praying Anew: Intergenerational Learning from Base BSTN
Prayer has looked different for all of this year (if it's looked like anything at all!).  As we begin to imagine entering a synagogue, standing in a sanctuary, and praying in community, let's reacquaint ourselves with some of the basics of communal prayer that may be feeling a bit rusty.

Whether you're a beginner or you've been praying for a long time, this series will be a way for you to deepen your connection to Jewish spirituality and help boost your confidence in a communal prayer setting.

We'll start by looking at the overall flow of the Shabbat morning prayer service, diving into some of the meaning we can derive from the structure of prayer itself.  Then, we'll look at the choreography, learning about the nuances and meaning in standing, sitting, covering our eyes, and so forth.  Finally, we'll do a deep dive into the Torah service (an element of prayer that requires community), learning about how Torah study can be prayerful & why it requires a minyan (10 people) physically present to perform.

Tuesdays @ 7:30-8:45pmET (virtual - Zoom link provided by email in advance of first session)
- June 1st (Arc of Shabbat Morning Prayer)
- June 8th (Choreography)
- June 15th (Torah Service)

*This is a discussion-based class, facilitated by Base BSTN online (via Zoom), where video & audio participation are encouraged - you will be invited to share your thoughts and speak from personal experience, with no obligation to do so.
