The Associate Dean for Faculty and Research will carefully scrutinize requests for RAs in two ways. First, faculty members must specifically identify each RA’s legal research project, provide realistic estimates of the hours to be worked, monitor the RA’s progress, and meet defined publication targets. Second, each professor should limit the total number of RA hours during the fiscal year (August 1 to July 31) to no more than the approved amount, unless the professor can demonstrate a need for more RA help.
Please note that Research Assistants must be used solely to support faculty members' scholarly research. They cannot be used as Teaching Assistants or in any other capacity to support faculty members' teaching responsibilities. If you have any questions, please contact the Associate Dean for Faculty and Research.
