Today’s foodservice equipment and supplies leaders must be adept at navigating change, while recognizing the unique strengths of our industry and leveraging them in a forward-thinking and innovative way. Couple that with the learning curve associated with the immense level of product knowledge required to advance in E&S and the intricacies of running a dealership, and it’s clear that emerging leaders must be dynamic individuals. Formed to help identify and develop the diverse range of talent within our industry, FEDA’s Young Industry Leaders (YIL) seeks to engage young dealer/distributor professionals currently serving in various leadership roles. Throughout the year, YIL will offer networking, leadership training activities and mentoring to help young professionals connect with other young professionals during industry meetings and conferences. Participation is open to individuals (under and around age 40) considered to be rising stars and currently serving in a leadership role in a foodservice equipment and supplies dealership or distribution company.

Below are the criteria that must be met to participate in the FEDA Young Industry Leaders’ Leadership Development Program. A FEDA Leadership Development Program participant must have the following experience:

• Serving in a full-time role within a FEDA member organization
• Managing people or managing a process
• Making strategic decisions
• Collaborating well with others
• Providing solutions to problems

Participants will have the opportunity to attend a two-day regional retreat to network and discuss industry-related topics with other rising stars. Note: The number of retreats offered will be based on the level of interest.
