Instructions To The Monitor/Evaluator

The candidate shall be provided with a charged 1 1/2" fire hose or larger.
The candidate shall be provided with a vehicle or simulated vehicle.
The candidate shall be informed as to where the fire is located on the vehicle.
The candidate shall be given the instructions below before beginning the exercise.

Instructions To The Candidate

The candidate shall demonstrate procedures for attacking a vehicle fire with 100% accuracy.

7 Steps *

1) Wears full PPE

2) Set nozzle on straight stream and bleeds air from hoseline

3) Approaches fire from uphill and upwind side

4) Approaches vehicle making sure to stay away from front or rear of vehicle

5) Extinguishes any ground fire under vehicle first

6) Uses straight stream or narrow fog to cool and suppress vehicle fire.

7) Maintain situational awareness. (ie. Leaking fluids, Shocks, etc.)
