The Naturalistic Decision-Making (NDM) and Resilience Engineering Association (REA) communities, supported by the Fondation pour une Culture de Sécurité Industrielle (FONCSI) and the Institut pour une Culture de Sécurité Industrielle (ICSI) are proposing to run a Symposium in June 2021. Under the shadow of COVID-19 and the resulting uncertainty, we are exploring the possibility of a blended event allowing participants to join virtually or physically. However, retaining a physical element involves the assessment of risk by both the organisers and the participants. The organisers will have to make decisions about the size of venue required and when to make a financial commitment to this venue and other associated logistical issues. Participants will need to decide if they commit to attending in person, when this decision should be made and when logistical issues such as travel and accommodation should be booked.

As communities, NDM and REA specialise in supporting individuals and organisations in making decisions under uncertainty. This survey, to be completed again before the Symposium starts on 21st June, seeks to explore your thoughts on attending the symposium. It will help us to understand better the decision-making under uncertainty of our community and to better plan the Symposium. This survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
