Vancouver Climate Strike 2023: Volunteer Sign-Up

On September 15, 2023, join young people, students, parents, teachers and community members at the Global Climate Strike on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) lands / Vancouver. You are invited to:

Gather at Vancouver City Hall at 1 pm
March at 1:30 pm
Vancouver Art Gallery at 3 pm for speakers, performances, and activities

In order to make this happen, we need as much volunteer help as we can get! Please sign up below to help out on September 15th.

POSTERING VOLUNTEERS - BEFORE SEPT 15

Postering in a group (will be scheduled with small groups of people to go out postering together)

Postering on my own (we will supply you with posters to put up on your own time)

EVENT VOLUNTEERS - SEPT 15

NOTE: Please only sign up for roles you have experience in (except for marshalling - we may provide training ahead of time)

Marshal for the march (no experience required): marshals help keep the march safe by keeping the group together, blocking traffic at intersections, and keeping an eye out for disruptive people.

First aid (certification required)

Photographer/videographer (experience/equipment required)

SET UP/TEAR DOWN VOLUNTEERS - SEPT 15
Please select which shift you are interested in. You may select more than one if you are able to commit to multiple shifts.

Set up: City Hall, starting at 12pm

Tear down: City Hall, starting at 1:30pm

Set up: VAG, starting at 1pm

Tear down: VAG, starting at 5pm

Watch/sit with an art sculpture at the VAG, 11:30am-1pm

SOUND EQUIPMENT TRANSPORTATION VOLUNTEERS

NOTE: Must have own truck/van

Sound equipment: Pickup from near Science World (anytime after 10am Friday), bring to VAG by 12:45pm, bring home following event, return equipment on Saturday

Canopy tents: Pickup near SW Marine Drive and Oak (anytime after 10am Friday), bring to VAG by 12:45pm, bring home following event, return to SW Marine and Oak on Monday
