End of year layoffs
It's hard enough being laid off any time of year, but abruptly losing your job around the holidays or the new year is especially difficult, scary, and demoralizing. If you've been laid off in the past few months (or have been laid off around the end of the year before), how are you coping and surviving? What advice would you have for others experiencing it for the first time?

Have you been laid off around the end of the year before/been unemployed around the new year? When? What happened?
How did you first feel when the layoff happened? Did your emotions shift (from fear to sadness to anger, etc) as you processed it?
How did you cope with the layoff, both emotionally and financially? Did you have a support system to lean on?
What advice, if any, would you have for others who've recently lost a job and are feeling hopeless?
