Hello Parents/ Guardians/Staff/ Community Members,
As mentioned at the end of the SY 2021 year, the federal government is providing Burch Charter School of Excellence with $1.7 million to accelerate learning due to the impact of COVID19 on learning over the next three years.  Your feedback is vital in deciding how we will prioritize and spend state funds.  Please submit feedback on how the grant funds should be spent for SY 2022 and SY 2023 by 2 PM on Friday, January 6, 2022.

Provide teachers with better instructional materials and digital resources
Provide professional development (PD) to instructional staff

Provide students loaner laptops and wi-fi hotspots
Expanding broadband access to underserved areas and upgrading technology
Increase the number of technology in the classrooms (Chromebooks, I-Pads & etc)
Provide teachers with digital resources
Increase the quality of the IT department to provide greater support to teachers and parents/ guardians

Provide teachers with training on SEL learning strategies
Provide tools and support for students emotional and health needs
Add additional School Counselor to provide support to students that need support
Provide mental health services to parents through Parent University and other school partnerships (Strengthening Families)
Integrate SEL strategies into the schools curriculum (Including Fieldtrips, etc.)

Air Purifiers to eliminate viral particles in the air
Increase and provide PPE to staff and students (mask, hand sanitizers, etc.)
Equip the school with thermo-temperature scanners to monitor students, staff and visitors health
Upgrade school facilities
Provide COVID Testing to students and staff
