Use this form to request a letter of recommendation for jobs, internships, or graduate school applications. I love supporting my students and view it as a fundamental part of my role as an instructor.
You can ALWAYS ask me for a letter. If I don't know you very well, then I am likely to tell you that I won't be able to write you a very strong or personal letter, and I may suggest that you find another writer. If you still want a letter from me, I will write a relatively generic letter describing your performance in my class and some of the assignments you completed. You can help me write you a strong letter by coming to Student Hours, completing reflection questions, asking questions in class, or meeting with me outside class time.
Please be aware that I do not write letters for opportunities which directly support policing, military applications, weapons manufacturing, intelligence, or surveillance.
This form has two purposes:
1. It helps me organize the many requests I receive.
2. It helps me to write accurate and equitable letters.
I modified this form from a resource developed by Sara LoTemplio (
