The UF Shelter Medicine Disaster Assessment Team coordinates with local, state, and national organizations in their efforts to assess needs and coordinate assistance for shelters before, during, and after disasters.
Our ability to help in the event of a disaster relies on having current contact information, including ways to contact you if phone and landline service is interrupted. Personnel and assignment turnover in shelters is high, so we update our emergency contact list throughout the year to be sure we are always ready to respond.
Please take a moment to update your shelter’s emergency contact information here. We will keep it confidential and share it only with your permission when needed to coordinate assistance for your shelter.
In addition to helping when a disaster strikes, we also provide access to disaster response training opportunities, recommended protocols, grant funding, and disaster planning.
