17th of May Seattle Parade Entry Application 2023
To participate in the 2023 17th of May Seattle Parade in Ballard please fill out the following online application and the accompanying Hold Harmless Agreement for your entry. 

If your entry is a motorized vehicle, (whether or not the vehicle is licensed for road use) you will need to provide the Parade Committee with proof of Washington State Vehicular Insurance or a photocopy of a Certificate of Insurance covering the vehicle. Please note: We cannot accept you application without this documentation. 

Please provide separate INDIVIDUAL HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT forms for each participant within your group. You can download these forms at https://www.17thofmay.org/ Please mail these in or give them to the check in desk on the day of the Parade. 

Due to Safety Precautions, Absolutely NO THROWING CANDY or handing out promotional materials or flyers. Parade officials are authorized to remove you from the parade for this action. 

Parade Awards: 
  • For Marching Bands & Drill Teams all awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd) will be given out at the Judges Stand on 24th Ave NW after the parade ends. 
  • "The Norwegian Consulate Award" (new award) will go to the group that best embodies the parade’s history and Norwegian pride. This award will be presented at a later date by the Honorary Norwegian Consul, Viggo Forde.

PARADE ENTRY HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT 

I/we assume all risk of bodily injury, property damage and personal injury that I/we may incur in participating in the Norwegian Seventeenth of May Parade and I/we, for myself/ourselves, my/our child/children, my/our heirs, executors, and administrators do hereby forever waive and release any and all claims against and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the 17th of May Seattle Organization, the Ballard Alliance, the City of Seattle, and SeaFair and all their respective officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors, or assigns of any kind and all claims which may be made for any cause whatsoever arising as a result of or in connection with my/our child’s/children’s participation in the 17th of May Seattle Parade. Do not mail INDIVIDUAL HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENTS in advance, bring the INDIVIDUAL HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENTS with you on parade day and present them to a parade official. No one in your entry will be allowed to participate without these forms being submitted prior to the start of the parade. NOTE: The 17th of May Seattle Organization reserves the right to reject or cancel any entry at any time should it be determined the entry detracts from the basic purpose of the 17th of May Seattle Parade and/or the viewing audience. Receipt of this form DOES NOT imply and/or guarantee acceptance into the 2023 17th of May Seattle Parade. Please return all applications with names of the officers of your organization for the parade announcer. 
By signing and dating this agreement 1/we acknowledge that i/we have read, fully understand and agree to all info on the Hold Harmless Agreement and that 1/we am/are authorized to do so.
