GPM Mentorship 2023 Registration Form
After a successful GPM Mentorship 2022, you may now register for the 2023 edition.
Deadline: January 31, 2023.

Program Description (find more at https://www.watersheds.online/gpm-mentorship-2023):
The second edition of a program designed to support new users from established and underrepresented user communities and provide a tailored hands-on learning experience. Our speakers/menotrs from NASA and other organizations (see below) will provide participants with an overview of state-of-the-art precipitation estimates and a take on Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Mission applications to address scientific and societal challenges.

The program provides both theoretical (lecture series) and an optional practical (capstone) training, supported by GPM subject matter experts.

As a part of this program, participants will be able to participate in a 5-session lecture series, group discussions, and Q&A sessions. Selected participants will then be assigned to thematic groups led by GPM mentors in order to carry out a 2-month case study project. Mentors will guide mentees in the development of a research / applications project, providing feedback and suggesting literature and examples of best practices. Mentors and mentees are expected to meet weekly to discuss the project and discuss any questions that the mentee may have for the development of the project. A final project demonstration will be held online, where each participant will share the results of the project and describe future steps.

Affiliations of our speakers/mentors: NASA, Texas A&M, University of Oklahoma, University of Minnesota, University of Coimbra.
