Staged Stories bring popular children’s books to life! This reader’s theatre series focuses on early learning by integrating a read-aloud story with visually inspiring live theatre and audience engagement.
We’re thrilled to announce auditions for our first production in the series, “Scales & Tales: Staged Stories from the Sea.”
Seeking young actors, ages 6-17, who are energetic and can move well on stage. Color and gender inclusive casting. All actors will play multiple roles.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS
Seahorse, male, age 12-17. A friendly and responsible helper.
Rainbowfish, female, age 12-17. A beautiful but proud creature.
Little Blue Fish / Starfish, any gender, age 12-17. Curious and bubbly companions.
Octopus, any gender, age 12-17. A wise and earnest teacher.
Neighbor Fish, any gender, ages 12-17. Multiple characters.
School of Fish / Coral Reef / Ocean Waves, any gender, ages 6-11

AUDITION DETAILS
When: Friday, May 7 from 6-7 PM
Where: The Gordon Community Art Center, 306 N Devilliers St. Pensacola, FL 32501
Auditions will consist of cold reads (no need to prepare a monologue or memorize anything in advance). Actors MUST sign up to audition. No walk-ins. Masks are required inside the building.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
Cast & Crew must be available for the majority of rehearsals; younger actors may be released early if needed. Tech and the performance date(s) are mandatory.
Auditions:
Friday, May 7 from 6-7 PM
(space is limited inside the building, so additional days may be added as necessary)
Rehearsals:
Mondays & Thursdays in May from 6-8 PM
(subject to change based on availability of the cast/crew)
Tech:
Monday, June 7 from 6-8 PM
Thursday, June 10 from 6-8 PM
Friday, June 11 (time TBD)
Performance(s):
Saturday, May 22 (promotional event)
Saturday, June 12 at 11:00 AM
(additional promotional and performance dates may be added, based on availability of cast, crew, and venues)
