About the event: Roots of One Body is born out of a series of artworks named FUEL by Bar Altaras. In this piece, together with the dancer-musician Daniella Ljungsberg, Altaras offers practices of increased observation and deep listening that occur simultaneously, as tools for re-examining the connection between dance and music. The work invites listening to dance as sounds and seeing sound as physical movements. It strives to formulate a unique musical instrument in which the acts of playing an instrument and dancing create an inseparable connection, generating a new entity that is released from the boundaries of the medium. This entity exists in a space consisting of nine microphones that produce a field of feedback and two loudspeakers, one of which is carried on the body of one of the performers.
