Design Thinking for School Leaders: Five Roles and Mindsets That Ignite Positive Change - Online Book Study
Title: Design Thinking for School Leaders: Five Roles and Mindsets That Ignite Positive Change

Description: Are you trying to improve the health and wellness of students and/or staff members, but encounter educators that are reluctant to change? In this online class, participants will read and discuss Design Thinking for School Leaders: Five Roles and Mindsets That Ignite Positive Change. Published in 2018, the book takes the reader through the steps of how to apply the design thinking process to address the challenge of change in the school setting. The authors of the book are Alyssa Gallagher, a veteran K-12 educator, school & district administrator, facilitator and educational consultant and Tami Thordarson, a classroom teacher and professional development and curriculum designer.  Design Thinking for School Leaders offers practical strategies for building empathy, thinking outside the box, and designing solutions to making positive change with intentionality. Weekly readings and online discussions allow participants to collaborate and learn together while also providing flexibility for busy schedules. Participants will learn the five components of the design thinking process and plan how to apply the components to a health and wellness change they desire to make in their school and/or district.
