Public Feedback Needed ---Draft of Lawrence County Portrait of a Graduate

Attached is a draft of the Lawrence County Portrait of a Graduate.  A Portrait of a Graduate is a visual representation of a school district’s and community’s vision for the 21st century skills, character traits, and social-emotional competencies that students need to succeed in school, career, and life.

This draft was developed over the past year by a committee made up of community members, business leaders, parents, and school personnel.  It was constructed based on results of interviews conducted with both adults and students in Lawrence County about the skills they felt a graduate truly needs.  It was also designed to include the 4 R’s currently used in classrooms across Lawrence County (respectful, responsible, ready, and relationships).  Along the way, the draft was edited based on feedback from other committee members, students, and staff of LC schools.

For the next step we need your help.  Please look at the draft and answer the following questions.  Your input is much appreciated.
