Pixley Union School District is in the process of electing members to the School Site Council (SSC) for the 2022-2023 school year. The SSC is required for all schools receiving categorical funds. Pixley Elementary and Pixley Middle School both receive the following categorical funds: LCAP and Title 1 funding and therefore we have a collective SSC.
These funds are used to supplement the regular school program. The purpose of the SSC is to develop a team that is responsive to the needs of the students in our schools. In order to accomplish this goal, the SSC meets regularly to assess the effectiveness of the school programs by planning, developing and approving the School Plan for Student Achievement. The SSC also reviews and updates the categorical budget. At Pixley USD, the SSC meets 4 times a year in the Middle School Library.
Members of the SSC include; the principal, teachers, other staff, parents, and at the secondary level, students. Members of the School Site Council are elected by their peers. This year, five parents need to be elected for the Pixley USD SSC: 5 on council. A member serves for two years, an alternate for one. If you are interested in being a member of the School Site Council, please fill out the nomination form below and return it to school no later than Friday,October 7th, 2022. After all nominations are in, a ballot will be sent home to all parents to vote. The five parents with the highest number of votes will serve on the SSC.
