Can You Say It In Six? - The Hawkeye's Six-Word Memoir Issue
Last year, we at The Hawkeye invited students and staff to share their stories with the Prep community in exactly six words. Within just one week, we had received nearly 100 responses. The memoirs we read were messy; they were riddled with imperfections; they were blatantly honest; but they were true.

A project founded by SMITH Magazine and brought to the Prep by Caleb Datto ’22, six-word memoirs are a way to explore the diverse backgrounds and experiences within our Prep community. This year, we are expanding this project by inviting not just students and staff, but also Prep parents, alumni, coaches, and even grandparents to share their memoirs with us for the second annual edition of our Six-Word Memoir Issue!

Our hope is that these memoirs will shed light on the unique stories that unite us as one St. Joe's Prep community. You might be surprised to learn about a teacher's near-death experience, a peer's incredible way of viewing friendship, or a student's perspective that he developed during an intercontinental move.

Submissions are due by Tuesday, March 14. The most interesting and thought-provoking responses may be followed up by a member of The Hawkeye Staff for an interview; however, responses to this form may be included in an upcoming issue with or without follow-up. We look forward to reading your stories!
