Memorial Day Flag Placement & Retrieval - Long Island National Cemetery
Be a part of the Pack 406 tradition of placing flags on our military's graves to honor their service to our country.

Saturday, May 27
Flag Placement at Long Island National Cemetery (Farmingdale, NY)

For flag placement, you must meet at Blackstone Steakhouse (10 Pinelawn Rd, Melville, NY) at 6 a.m.! We will leave as a group promptly at 6:15 a.m. Flag placement should conclude by 7:15 a.m.

Saturday, June 3
Flag Retrieval at Long Island National Cemetery (Farmingdale, NY)

For flag retrieval, we will meet at 9 a.m. at the location where we did flag placement. If you did not take part in flag placement, check with pack leaders a few days before for the exact meeting location.

If you can't do flag retrieval with us at 9 a.m., you may do it at your convenience. There are plenty of flags that need to be retrieved Saturday or Sunday at the cemetery. You must send a picture of your Scout at the cemetery to your den leader and pack406li@gmail.com.

Scouts & Leaders: Wear Field Uniform (Class A)!

 - Scouts who participate in both flag placement and retrieval will earn a special Decoration of Graves patch.
 - Scouts who participate in both flag placement and retrieval can also use this as a requirement to earn the Support Our Military Award.
